TRADE:

In 2023 Ireland exported approximately 86 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €0.51m

In 2022 Ireland exported approximately 132 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €0.58 m

In 2021 Ireland exported approximately 49 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €0.31 m

In 2020 Ireland exported approximately 87 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €0.44 m

In 2019 Ireland exported approximately 227 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €0.99 m

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 343 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €1.37 m

 

PRODUCTS EXPORTED: Mainly frozen pig offal, sausages and similar products of meat, meat offal or blood, food preparations based on these products.

 

CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS: We do not have a bilaterally agreed certificate for the export of Pigmeat to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). That said, the UAE seems to be one of the countries that accept exports of Pigmeat from Ireland based on the general export health certificate.

The export health certificate covers edible Pigmeat products.

EXPORTER T&C’S: The meat must satisfy the conditions set out in the general export health certificate and must be exported from a DAFM approved premises.

PRODUCTS EXPORTED: Meat and offal of bovine animals, prepared or preserved

CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS: There are two certificates:

(1) The certificate is for chilled and frozen boneless beef and meat products derived therefrom

EXPORTER T&C’S:

  • No age restriction
  • The meat must be derived from animals born and raised in Ireland
  • Exports can take place from all establishments approved by DAFM
  • Trader Notice No. 9/2010 and 31/2012 refers:

(2) For poultrymeat products:  Health certificate for the Export of chilled and frozen poultry meat and meat products derived therefrom to the United Arab Emirates

 

  • The poultry from which the poultrymeat derives must originate from an area which has been free from notifiable diseases for the species, including Newcastle Disease and HPAI, for the past 3 months and
  • no AI outbreaks have been officially reported within a 25 km radius of the supply farms, slaughterhouse and packaging facility for 3 months prior to product export.
  • Exports can take place from all establishments approved by DAFM
  • Note: Additional conditions may also apply depending on the origin of the meat

In 2020 Ireland exported approximately 54 tonnes of beef valued at €0.35 m

In 2019 Ireland exported approximately 20 tonnes of beef valued at €0.38 m

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 25 tonnes of beef valued at €0.62 m

 

PRODUCTS EXPORTED: Mainly fresh or chilled boneless beef and prepared bovine meat.

CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS: The certificate is for chilled and frozen boneless beef and meat products.

EXPORTER T&C’S:

  • No age restriction
  • The meat must be derived from animals born and raised in Ireland.
  • Exports can take place from all establishments approved by DAFM.
  • Trader Notice No. 9/2010 and 31/2012 refers:
  • Halal certification bodies must be registered with ESMA.

In 2021 Ireland exported approximately 27 tonnes of Poultrymeat meat valued at €0.21 m

In 2020 Ireland exported approximately 36 tonnes of Poultrymeat meat valued at €0.30 m

In 2019 Ireland exported approximately 78 tonnes of Poultrymeat meat valued at €0.38 m

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 38 tonnes of Poultrymeat meat valued at €0.28 m

 

 PRODUCTS EXPORTED: Fresh or chilled poultry not cut in pieces, prepared, or preserved meat and offal.

 

CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS: The certificate is for chilled and frozen Poultrymeat and meat products.

EXPORTER T&C’S:

  • The poultry from which the poultrymeat derives must originate from an area which has been free from notifiable diseases for the species, including Newcastle Disease and HPAI, for the past 3 months and

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 19 tonnes of Sheepmeat valued at €0.34 m
